Airbnb
How to connect an Airbnb calendar to Norka in both directions.
Airbnb connects the same way as Booking.com: two iCal links, one that imports reservations into Norka and one that lets Airbnb fetch occupancy from Norka.
1. Copy the calendar link from Airbnb
- Sign in to Airbnb as a host and open Calendar.
- Pick the listing you want to connect.
- In the right-hand panel open Availability settings and scroll to Connect calendars.
- Click Connect to another website and copy the link under Export calendar. It ends in
.ics.
The link is a secret: anyone who has it can see the listing's occupancy. Share it with Norka and nowhere else.
2. Add the import in Norka
- In Norka open Estates and pick the estate.
- In the iCal imports section click Add import.
- Choose Airbnb as the Source, paste the link into Calendar URL and optionally give it a Name.
- Leave Active on and save.
Norka fetches the calendar right away and keeps checking it every hour.
3. Let Airbnb fetch the calendar from Norka
- On the estate page in Norka copy the iCal export URL.
- On Airbnb, in the same Connect calendars dialog, click Import calendar, paste the link and name it "Norka".
Airbnb refreshes external calendars roughly every two hours.
What happens once connected
- A new reservation on Airbnb appears in Norka as a stay with the source Airbnb. Airbnb does not include the guest's name in the calendar, so the stay is first named after the source and the name is filled in from online check-in.
- A cancellation on Airbnb cancels the stay in Norka automatically.
- Collisions between two calendars are flagged and you are alerted.
Common questions
Airbnb puts "Airbnb (Not available)" blocks in the calendar. Those are manual blocks or preparation days, not reservations. Norka tells them apart by the missing reservation link and skips them. Only a real reservation becomes a stay.
I have several listings for one estate (for example the whole house and a single room). Connect each listing as a separate import of the same estate. Norka then makes sure they never overlap.
